UAE Sends Condolences to Vietnam for Typhoon Yagi Victims

The United Arab Emirates has expressed its heartfelt condolences and solidarity with Vietnam in the wake of the devastating impact of Typhoon Yagi. The typhoon, which caused severe floods and landslides, resulted in numerous deaths, injuries, and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In a statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) extended its deepest sympathy to the government and people of Vietnam, especially to the families of those who lost their lives. The ministry also wished a speedy recovery for all who were injured in the disaster.

Typhoon Yagi: Vietnam’s Deadly Storm

Typhoon Yagi, recognized as Asia’s most powerful storm this year, hit northern Vietnam hard, leading to tragic loss of life and destruction. Government reports indicate that 49 people have died, and 22 are still missing, primarily due to landslides and floods caused by the storm.

The typhoon made landfall on Saturday on Vietnam's northeastern coast, which is home to major domestic and foreign manufacturing hubs. Though downgraded to a tropical depression by Sunday, meteorologists have warned of continued risks, including further floods and landslides.

A Show of Support

The UAE’s gesture of solidarity underscores the nation’s commitment to supporting countries affected by natural disasters. The UAE continues to stand by Vietnam in these challenging times as the nation works to recover from the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi.
