UAE Rescues Elderly Man From Saudi Arabia in Joint Mission

The UAE successfully carried out an air ambulance rescue mission for an elderly citizen injured in Saudi Arabia, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday. The man, in his seventies, experienced a health issue while visiting Saudi Arabia, necessitating swift medical intervention.

In coordination with Saudi authorities, the UAE National Guard’s National Search and Rescue Centre conducted the rescue mission, airlifting the patient to the UAE for continued medical treatment. Initially treated at King Khalid Hospital in Saudi Arabia, he was then transferred to Mediclinic Hospital in the UAE, where he is receiving further care.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to Saudi authorities for their support, noting the Saudi team's valuable assistance to the UAE Consulate in Jeddah during the complex airlift operation.

The UAE’s National Search and Rescue Centre has consistently prioritized swift and compassionate responses in medical emergencies abroad. Earlier this year, the center conducted two other cross-border airlifts from Oman. In one incident, an Emirati woman was evacuated following a severe traffic accident in Ibri. Another similar evacuation took place in Salalah, where an injured Emirati woman and her family were airlifted after a serious car accident. In a separate case, a woman injured in a traffic accident in Oman was brought to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in the UAE for advanced medical care.

These successful missions underscore the UAE’s commitment to citizen welfare, offering a safety net for Emiratis abroad and highlighting regional cooperation in emergency medical services.
