UAE Launches AI System to Speed Up Lawmaking

The UAE is moving towards smarter governance with the launch of its first AI-powered regulatory intelligence system, approved by the Cabinet as part of a major digital transformation push.

This new system will speed up how laws are developed and updated, aiming to make the entire legislative process faster, more accurate, and better connected to real-world changes.

Smarter, faster lawmaking with AI

Designed to be responsive to rapid changes in the global landscape, the new system will use artificial intelligence to analyze data, detect legal gaps, and suggest timely updates. Authorities say it could cut the time needed to process new laws by up to 70%.

The system will also track legal changes around the world in real time, helping the UAE stay ahead in adjusting to international standards.

One unified platform for laws and rulings

At the heart of the initiative is a massive national legal database that brings together all federal and local laws, court rulings, executive orders, and public service procedures into one smart platform. This unified hub will help both government bodies and the public access updated legal information easily.

Regulatory Intelligence Office to oversee the rollout

To lead this transformation, a new Regulatory Intelligence Office will be created under the Cabinet’s General Secretariat. The office will work closely with federal and local governments, as well as private sector partners, to develop and manage the system.

This move is part of the UAE’s broader strategy to become a global leader in digital governance and policy innovation.
