UAE Issues 14 Rules to Keep National Day Celebrations Safe

As the UAE gears up to celebrate its 53rd National Day, now called Eid Al Etihad, on December 2, authorities have released a set of 14 rules to ensure safety, order, and enjoyment for everyone. The long weekend marks the final public holiday of the year, and residents are encouraged to comply with these guidelines to prevent disruptions and accidents.  

Key Guidelines for National Day Celebrations

1. No Random Marches or Gatherings

Residents are prohibited from organizing or joining unauthorized marches or gatherings.  

2. Follow Traffic Laws 

Adhere to all traffic regulations and obey police instructions.  

3. Avoid Party Sprays  

Drivers, passengers, and pedestrians are not allowed to use party sprays.  

4. Keep License Plates Visible  

Ensure that your vehicle’s front and rear license plates are clearly visible and unaltered.  

5. Vehicle Decorations Must Follow Rules  

Only apply stickers or decorations that are officially approved for National Day. Unapproved modifications, such as tinting front windows or altering vehicle colors, are not allowed.  

6. No Overloading or Risky Passenger Behavior  

Do not exceed the maximum passenger limit, and ensure no one leans out of windows or sunroofs.  

7. Avoid Unauthorized Vehicle Modifications  

Do not add unlicensed features or make changes to your car that could cause noise, obstruct vision, or create safety hazards.  

8. Keep Roads Clear  

Blocking roads, obstructing traffic, or preventing access for emergency vehicles like ambulances or police is strictly prohibited.  

9. Refrain from Road Stunts  

Performing stunts on public roads is dangerous and forbidden.  

10. Mind Window Stickers and Sunshades  

Avoid covering side, front, or rear windows with decorations or sun shades that block visibility.  

11. Wear Approved Scarves Only  

Stick to scarves designed specifically for *Eid Al Etihad* celebrations.  

12. Raise Only UAE Flags  

Flags of other countries are not allowed; celebrate with UAE flags only.  

13. Play Approved Music Only  

Limit the volume of music and ensure it is related to *Eid Al Etihad*.  

14. Follow Decoration Rules for Shops and Drivers  

Shops and drivers can only use stickers and flags that are officially approved, such as the UAE flag.
