UAE announced that public sector employees will receive three days of holiday for Eid Al Fitr this year, the government confirmed on Monday, Mar. 17.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources revealed that government employees will receive paid leave for the first three days of Shawwal.
Every month in the Islamic calendar lasts for 29 days or 30 days; since Ramadan began on Mar. 1, Eid is likely to fall on Mar. 30 or Mar. 31.
The Emirates Astronomical Society recently stated that Eid Al Fitr will likely begin on Mar. 31 this year. If this is the case, government employees will return to work on Thursday, Apr. 3, which means they will have a long five-day holiday to enjoy the Eid festivities with their loved ones.
