UAE Airfares Skyrocket Because of Six-Day Break for Eid Al Adha

Airfares in the UAE have skyrocketed because of the high demand for the upcoming six-day long break for Eid Al Adha

For example, the ticket price for a flight from Abu Dhabi to the Maldives costs AED 4,000 per person on Friday, Jun. 23.

Travelling to another popular destination Seychelles comes at the very hefty price of AED 4,000 during the Eid break.

On this Friday, flights to Nairobi have gone through the roof at AED 10,600, while flights from Dubai to Beirut cost AED 3,500 with flydubai and AED 4,000 with Emirates.

Travelling to Kochi in India will cost travellers between AED 3,500 to AED 4,000 with carriers like Emirates, Spicejet, and Air India Express.

The busiest flight route in the world Dubai to London will also see an increase in ticket prices during the Eid break with each ticket costing AED 4,000.

Online travel company Wego shared that in 2023, there has been a significant increase in ticket prices as the average booking value from Jun. 1 to Jun. 20 in 2023 is 36 percent higher than last year.

The company also shared the most searched destinations for travel during Eid Al Adha, which are India, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Turkey, Lebanon, Thailand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

Other countries that are travelled to during the holidays are Azerbaijan, Oman, Great Britain, Indonesia, Bosnia, Qatar, and Nepal, because they require visas on arrival or are visa-free for GCC residents.

Another travel agency Skyscanner shared that 87 percent of people from the UAE are planning to travel for the long Eid holiday.

The increase in travel demand has resulted from many people trying to make up for lost time during the pandemic and to take full advantage of the extended Eid holiday.
