Dubai Police faced a surge in calls during the New Year's Eve celebrations of 2024, with a total of 14,148 calls received by the Command and Control Centre emergency hotline (999) and the non-emergency Call Centre (901) from 6 PM on December 31 to 6 AM on January 1.

Call Distribution

Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Al Muhairi, the Director of the Command and Control Centre in the General Department of Operations at Dubai Police, detailed the breakdown of calls, revealing that 13,078 were directed to the emergency hotline (999), while 1,070 calls were received by the 901 Call Centre for non-emergency cases.

Colonel Al Muhairi commended the dedicated efforts of the staff at both the Command and Control Centre (999) and the Call Centre (901) for their swift and professional responses to all inquiries. This commitment aligns with Dubai Police's mission to enhance the security, safety, and happiness of the community.

Recognizing the public's cooperation, Colonel Al Muhairi appreciated the proactive approach of residents in heading to designated celebration areas early.
