The Falcon 9 Rocket, Carrying MBZ-SAT, Launches into Space

The Falcon 9 Rocket, carrying the MBZ-SAT satellite, successfully launched into space on Monday, Jan. 14 from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The first and second stages of the rocket secondly separated. Eventually, the protective structure also separated from the missile. The fairing deployment was completed after some time.

The MBZ-SAT has been in development since 2020, with most of the satellite parts made by private companies.

About 90 percent of the satellite’s mechanical structure and most of its electronic modules were made locally.

The satellite is equipped with one of the most powerful cameras developed in the region, featuring technology that can show details within areas of less than one square meter.

The camera will help with mapping and analysis, environmental monitoring, navigation, infrastructure management and disaster relief efforts.

The satellite has undergone rigorous environmental testing in the past few months, ensuring its resilience and functionality in space.

After its launch, the MBZ-SAT will be operated and monitored from the Mission Control Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC).

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai lit up to celebrate the launch of the MBZ-SAT into space on Tuesday night.
