Cheese Börek

5 pieces of filo pastry
2 eggs
200 ml sparkling water
200 ml milk
200 ml melted butter
1 pack white cheese, grated

  1. Prepare the Filo Pastry

    Roll your store-bought filo pastry and cut it into long strips. Separate into two equal batches.
  2. Make the Egg Batter

    In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs, sparkling water, milk, and melted butter (or olive oil). You will use this batter in two batches too.
  3. Assemble

    In an oven dish, layer the first batch of filo pastry, pour half the egg batter, and top with the grated white cheese. Layer with the second batch of pastry and the remaining egg batter.
  4. Bake

    Bake your Börek in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes until the top and bottom are golden brown.
