Dust Storm Hits UAE with Strong Winds and Low Visibility

Residents across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra woke up to dusty skies on Wednesday as the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued an orange alert due to poor visibility and strong winds. The dust storm is expected to continue through Thursday, April 17.

Drivers urged to stay alert

Motorists are being asked to drive carefully as visibility on roads may be significantly reduced. NCM also reminded residents to keep all windows and doors shut to avoid dust getting into homes and buildings.

Winds reach up to 50 km/h

Moderate to strong winds are blowing across the country, with speeds hitting up to 50 km/h in coastal and island areas. Mountain and inland regions are also seeing winds of around 40 to 45 km/h.

Temperature drops slightly

A slight drop in temperatures is expected, with daytime highs ranging between 32°C and 37°C and lows between 22°C and 26°C.

Dusty weather to continue tomorrow

NCM confirmed that the dusty weather will persist into Thursday. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather alerts and take precautions, especially while outdoors or driving.
