Grealish Dedicated First World Cup Goal to Child with Cerebral Palsy

England midfielder Jack Grealish dedicated his goal against Iran, on Monday, November 21, in the first round of Group B competitions in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, to Finlay (11 years old), who has cerebral palsy, after he promised him to do a special celebration.

Grealish, who entered in the second half, scored the sixth goal following an assist from Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson, did not forget to celebrate the way he promised the little boy who met him before the start of the World Cup.

Finlay asked his hero, Jack Grealish, to celebrate in this way (waving arms in the way of waves) if he scored in the World Cup.

Jack had met the young fan as part of City's community activities after Finlay writes him a long letter expressing his admiration for his athletic and human interest in him, as Grealish is dedicated to taking care of his younger sister, Holly, who suffers from the same disease as Finlay.

"You are my hero and the best bond for your sister Holly "

I wish there were more people in the world just like you who treat people with disabilities the same as anyone else" Finlay wrote to Grealish.

Grealish, 27, followed up with a letter of his own and made a surprise visit to meet Finlay at a football session run by City's charity program.

It was there that he pledged to dedicate his next goal to the boy with the arm gesture Grealish recreated in Qatar.

"I met young Finlay about a month ago," said Grealish after Monday's match.

"Finley is having cerebral palsy like my little sister as well, so he asked me to do a celebration for him and luckily it came at a World Cup.

"That's what it is all about for me, it's just doing a celebration. That will mean the world to him I'm sure, especially me doing it at a World Cup.

"So, Finlay, that one's for you," Grealish added

It is noteworthy that the England national team, nicknamed the Three Lions, defeated the Iranian national team, 6-2, in the opening matches of Group B of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham scored first for the England team after a perfect pass from Luke Shaw, before Arsenal's Bakayo Saka added the second goal with a wonderful shot, and Chelsea's Raheem Stirling added the third goal, taking advantage of an assist from captain Harry Kane.

In the second half, the English team continued its dominance and scored the fourth goal through Saka again, before substitutes Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish scored the fifth and sixth goals.

It is worth noting that Jack Grealish, Manchester City player, has represented the English national team in 23 matches, and he has only scored this goal for his country at the international level, which he dedicated to the young fan.
