Emirati Woman Awarded for Aiding in Preventing Dh250,000 Robbery

In a commendable act of courage and vigilance, an Emirati woman has received recognition from the Dubai Police for her heroic intervention that led to the prevention of a Dh250,000 robbery and attempted kidnapping.

This incident transpired on September 25 around 1:30 PM in the Al Muraqqabat area.

Nouf Al Mazrouei narrated the incident saying that during her lunch break, Nouf observed two individuals forcibly dragging and assaulting a third person beside her parked car near a restaurant. While onlookers remained passive, Nouf fearlessly confronted the perpetrators, demanding they stop their actions.

One of the culprits dismissively claimed it was a private matter. Nouf, undiscouraged, declared that regardless of the context, physical harm was neither fair nor lawful.

In a rush, the suspects pushed the victim into a white car and sped away. Nouf noted the car's license plate number and contacted the Dubai Police, who instructed her to stay put while a patrol was dispatched. Upon arrival, the police took Nouf's statement and later confirmed that the suspect's vehicle was captured on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Major General Abdullah Khadem bin Suroor Al-Massam, director of Bur Dubai Police Station, lauded Nouf's responsible and intelligent handling of the situation. In appreciation of Nouf's courageous act, Maj Gen Al Maasam presented her with a certificate of commendation. He underlined the significance of such accolades in fostering the partnership between Dubai Police and the community, strengthening safety and security in the region.
