Emirates Bans Pagers and Walkie-Talkies on All Flights

In a new security move, Emirates has announced a ban on pagers and walkie-talkies across all its flights, including those to, from, and through Dubai.

The airline revealed the update on Friday evening, informing passengers that these devices will no longer be allowed in either checked luggage or carry-on bags. If found, the items will be confiscated by Dubai Police.

"Passengers are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie-talkies in any form of baggage. Confiscation will occur if found," Emirates confirmed in its statement.

While no detailed explanation was provided, the decision follows increased tensions in Lebanon. In mid-September, Israel detonated thousands of such devices in Lebanon, escalating the conflict with intensified air raids and ground incursions.

Due to the rising risks, Emirates has already suspended flights to and from Beirut until at least October 15. Other airlines, including Etihad Airways and flydubai, have also halted services to the Lebanese capital, with cancellations extending into October.

Passengers planning travel through the region are advised to stay updated on further changes as safety protocols evolve.
