Dubai's RTA Opens Two Bridges as Part of AED 3.5 bn Traffic Plan

Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened two bridges and a tunnel as part of an AED 3.5 billion road improvement project.

These projects together span 2, 325 m and will have the capacity to hold 2,700 vehicles per hour. They will ease the traffic movement between Al Khaleej Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road, and Al Ghubaiba Road.

The bridges and tunnel have been launched under the Falcon Interchange Improvement Project, which is part of the 13 km  Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project that spans Sheikh Rashid Road, Al Mina Street, Al Khaleej Street, and Cairo Street.

RTA wrote about the Falcon project on Twitter and said "The improvement of the Falcon Interchange enables a smooth traffic flow along Al Shindagha corridor (Al Khaleej and Al Mina Street), besides increasing the capacity, efficiency, and traffic safety of these two roads."

The Shindagha Project includes plans for the construction of 15 junctions. Dubai's transport chiefs aim to expand the emirate's road networks with this project, which will serve the requirements of an increasing population.
