Dubai Tops the Region in Global Power City Index Again
Dubai secures 1st in the Middle East and 8th worldwide in the Global Power City Index 2024.

For the second consecutive year, Dubai has claimed the top spot regionally and ranked 8th globally in the Global Power City Index 2024, released by Japan’s Mori Memorial Foundation’s Institute for Urban Strategies.

This milestone makes Dubai the first city in the Middle East to achieve such recognition, solidifying its place as a global hub of ambition, resilience, and innovation.
Visionary Leadership Behind the Success
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared the announcement on X, attributing the accomplishment to the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the dedication of Dubai’s people and partners.
“Dubai’s high ranking shows we’re not just keeping pace but setting new benchmarks for excellence,” he wrote.
He emphasized that a city’s true strength lies in its vision and ability to inspire, highlighting Dubai’s ongoing determination to shape a dynamic future.
For the second year in a row, Dubai has been ranked first regionally and eighth globally in the Global Power City Index 2024 issued by the Mori Memorial Foundation’s Institute for Urban Strategies in Japan. Dubai is the first Middle Eastern city to achieve this distinction.
