Dubai Plans Super-Thin Skyscraper With 1 Apartment per Floor

Dubai is about to add another architectural marvel to its already jaw-dropping skyline, and this one is sure to turn heads - literally! Meet The Muraba Veil, a super-thin skyscraper that will stand 1,247 feet tall but be only 74 feet wide, the same width as a single apartment. Talk about a slender figure!

A Skyscraper Like No Other

According to Muraba, the United Arab Emirates-based developer behind the project, the tower will rise 73 stories high and feature 131 luxury apartments with two to five bedrooms each. But it’s not just the size of the apartments that will impress. Muraba promises a full suite of “curated leisure amenities,” including a spa, restaurant, art gallery, padel court, and even a private movie theater. It’s not just a home—it’s a lifestyle.

The ultra-thin design makes The Muraba Veil unique, especially when viewed from the canal alongside Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai’s main transport artery. This architectural beauty was dreamt up by RCR Arquitectes, a Spanish firm that won the prestigious Pritzker Prize (the architecture world’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize) in 2017. This is the fifth time Muraba and RCR Arquitectes have collaborated, and they expect the project to be completed by December 2028.

Luxury Comes at a Price

So, what’s the catch? Well, living in Dubai’s latest luxury tower won’t come cheap. Prices for apartments in The Muraba Veil start at a whopping 18 million dirhams (around $4.9 million). But with that price tag comes unmatched exclusivity, breathtaking views, and a design like no other.

The building itself is a hybrid of indoor and outdoor spaces, with each apartment designed to feel like a traditional Arabian home. The layouts revolve around an inner courtyard and are cooled by shade and greenery, giving residents a calm and natural retreat in the heart of the city. To add to the magic, the building is wrapped in a “veil”—a bespoke stainless steel mesh that reflects the sky’s changing colors throughout the day. It's not just a building; it's a living piece of art.

Dubai’s Quest for Architectural Glory

The Muraba Veil is set to join Dubai’s collection of record-breaking and breathtaking structures. Already home to Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world at 2,717 feet, Dubai will soon boast Burj Azizi, the second tallest, at 2,379 feet.

Dubai is no stranger to creating superlative experiences. The city already holds records for the world’s highest infinity pool, the largest natural flower garden, and even the biggest picture frame. With The Muraba Veil, Dubai continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

If you thought Dubai’s skyline couldn’t get any more impressive, think again. By 2028, The Muraba Veil will redefine the way we look at skyscrapers - proving that sometimes, less really is more!
