Clear 4 Black Points from Your License on Accident-Free Day

Drivers in Dubai, here’s some exciting news. Mark your calendars for Monday, August 26, the day the Ministry of the Interior has designated as Accident Free Day. On this day, you can have four black points removed from your driver’s license. This initiative is a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance road safety in the UAE.

The Easy Road to a Clean Record

Participating in this initiative is straightforward. All you need to do is sign up for a traffic safety pledge and, most importantly, stick to it. By doing so, you’ll be eligible to have four black points removed from your license on Saturday, September 14.

Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, explains, “This campaign is part of our strategy to promote responsible driving and align with the UAE government’s vision for road safety.”

Understanding the Traffic Pledge

The pledge is simple and based on common sense. Here’s what you commit to:

- Maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead

- Yielding to pedestrians at crossings

- Always wearing a seatbelt

- Adhering to speed limits

- Not using a handheld mobile phone while driving

- Giving way to emergency vehicles, police, public service vehicles, and official convoys
