Bus Accident in Khorfakkan Leaves Multiple Workers Injured

A bus carrying construction workers was involved in a serious accident in Khorfakkan on Monday morning, leaving multiple passengers injured. Sharjah Police confirmed the incident through social media, cautioning residents against sharing unverified information.  

The accident occurred at a roundabout near the city’s entrance, according to social workers familiar with the situation.

Police Confirm Ongoing Investigation  

In an Instagram story posted just after midnight, Sharjah Police stated, “In cooperation with relevant authorities, we are dealing with a bus accident in Khorfakkan. Updates will be shared later. We urge the public to rely only on official sources for information.”  

Authorities have not yet released specific details about the number of injuries or the cause of the accident.

Workers Were Returning from a Day Trip  

Saleem, a social worker from the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC), revealed that the passengers were Indian workers employed by a company based in Ajman. The group had spent their day off visiting the company’s headquarters and shopping for groceries in Ajman.  

The accident occurred on their return journey around 8 PM. Some of the injured workers, now admitted to Khorfakkan Hospital, were reportedly in shock and unable to recall the exact sequence of events.  

Police Urge Caution  

As investigations continue, Sharjah Police have reiterated the importance of obtaining updates from verified sources to prevent misinformation from spreading.
