The Island

Dubai's collection of man-made islands just keeps growing! One more is underway – it’s called simply The Island, spanning 10.5 hectares. Positioned off Umm Suqeim's coast, nestled close to the Jumeirah public beach and adjacent to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, this massive project is gearing up for construction. Wasl Properties, the developer, has entrusted China State Construction Engineering Corporation to bring The Island to life. The plan? Bringing in big names like MGM, Bellagio, and Aria from Las Vegas, boasting 1,400 hotel rooms and apartments, along with a lineup of shops and restaurants.

Dubai Urban Tech District

Dubai's gearing up for another groundbreaking achievement with the Dubai Urban Tech District – set to become the world's largest urban tech hub. This expansive project will unfold across a 140,000 sqm plot in Al Jaddaf. URB, the brains behind the operation, envisions the district as a hub for conferences, training, research, seminars, and business incubation. An eco-friendly touch – the building is committed to offsetting all carbon emissions from its construction and operation. Plus, the district is slated to host an urban tech institute.

Dubai Creek Tower

The Dubai Creek Tower faced delays last year, but things are picking up speed again. Construction is set to resume in 2024. Originally, the plan was to make it taller than the Burj Khalifa, but that might change. Emaar's founder, Mohamed Alabbar, hinted at ongoing redesign efforts, suggesting that being the tallest tower in Dubai might not be the focus anymore. He emphasized the importance of delivering value to customers and shareholders. Word on the street is there's a brand-new concept in the works for the tower.

Baccarat Hotel and Residences

The renowned New York brand, Baccarat, is all set to introduce its unique vibe to the UAE through an upcoming project. This towering structure, crafted by Studio Libeskind and 1508 London, boasts a stunning glass façade that promises breathtaking vistas of Dubai's iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Al Fahidi Fort, the Dubai Frame, and the Dubai Creek. Tower One will house the hotel, offering a lavish experience with 144 rooms and suites. Meanwhile, the residential section will include 49 rooms along with four distinct dining venues.

Dubai Reefs

Dubai Reefs is gearing up to be a sustainable floating community dedicated to marine research, ecological rejuvenation, and eco-tourism, aiming to safeguard Dubai's marine and coastal environments. Originally, the project envisioned the creation of the world's most diverse artificial reef, with 200 square kilometers. This reef could potentially harbor over 1 billion corals and 100 million mangrove trees. Alongside these eco-centric goals, the project's blueprints encompass residential, hospitality, and retail areas, featuring floating eco-lodges, wave farms, and ocean farming initiatives.

Burj Binghatti

Binghatti, in collaboration with Jacob & Co, is eyeing the title of 'the tallest residential building in the world'. While the exact height's still a secret, it's slated to sprout up in Business Bay. Presently, the 393-meter Princess Tower holds the crown, but everyone's eager to see just how high this new player will reach. Named Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences, this skyscraper promises more than just height—it's packing an infinity pool flaunting killer views of Dubai's skyline.

Wasl Tower

Soaring to a height of 302 meters, Wasl Tower is set to welcome visitors in the second quarter of 2024. Among its highlights are 229 residential units and 258 hotel rooms, marking the establishment of Dubai's second Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Apart from these luxe accommodations, the tower will sport a helipad, office spaces, and 11 parking floors. Rumor has it that it’ll also link up with the Burj Khalifa Metro station.

Palm Jebel Ali

In early 2023, Dubai introduced the concept for Palm Jebel Ali, an expansive island project spanning 13.4 sq km, boasting a coastline stretching over 110km. The ambitious plan includes the development of over 80 hotels and resorts across seven interconnected islands. Envisioned as the future home for 35,000 families, the project prioritizes sustainability, aiming to power 30 percent of its public facilities using renewable energy sources.
