The UAE evacuated on Sunday, May 7th, 178 people from war-torn Sudan on the fifth evacuation flight amid the ongoing conflict.

This move comes under the directives of the Gulf nation's leadership as part of the UAE's commitments to humanitarian assistance and strengthening global cooperation and solidarity.

The initiative will contribute to international relief efforts and help ease the humanitarian suffering caused by the fighting in Sudan.

The sick, children, the elderly, and women were given priority during the evacuations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
