UAE President Pardons Bangladeshis Involved in Recent Riots

In a significant act of clemency, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the pardon of Bangladeshi nationals involved in protests and disturbances across several emirates in July.

The decision includes canceling their sentences and arranging their deportation.

Following His Highness' directive, UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi has issued orders to halt the implementation of the sentences and initiate deportation procedures.

The Attorney-General also reminded all UAE residents of the importance of respecting the country’s laws. He emphasized that while the right to express opinions is protected within the UAE's legal framework, it must be done in ways that do not jeopardize national interests or public safety.
