UAE Marks Sheikh Mohammed's Accession Day Anniversary

Today marks the 17th Accession Anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE’s Vice President, and Prime Minister of the UAE, as Ruler of Dubai.

Dubai witnessed numerous initiatives and projects inaugurated and approved by Sheikh Mohammed in 2022. Here are some of them.

Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, December 12

Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan which includes Enhancing Urban Centres, Dubai Real Estate Strategy, Urban Farming Plan, Preserving Urban Heritage Plan, Developing the 20-Minute City Policy, and the Pedestrian Network Master Plan.

Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Master Plan, November 27

Aims to preserve the nature of areas like Lehbab, Margham, Al Marmoom, Al Lisaili, Al Faqaa and Al Aweer. It also offers various entertainment services and wellness destinations.

UAE Tourism Strategy 2031, November 11

Launched to strengthen the position of the UAE as one of the best destinations in the world for tourism.

Mohammed bin Rashid Library /Three million books, June 15

His Highness ordered the distribution of three million books across thousands of schools in the Arab world to promote reading.

His Highness also inaugurated the Mohammed bin Rashid Library which aims to cultivate a culture of reading.

'1 Billion Meals', April 27

His Highness announced the successful conclusion of the '1 Billion Meals' initiative as it achieved its goal of providing one billion meals to the disadvantaged and vulnerable in 50 countries.

Several New Visas, April 18

The UAE cabinet chaired by Sheikh Mohammed announced the Golden Visa, Green Visa, 5-year multi-entry Tourist Visa, Job Exploration Visa, and Business Entry Visa.

Museum of the Future February 22

The Museum of the Future was inaugurated by His Highness.

Students Labor Law, February 17

Executive regulations were approved for the labor law, including work permits for students aged 15.
