There's a New Way to Book Taxis In Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has partnered with global technology company Yango Group to bring a seamless taxi booking experience to Abu Dhabi. Residents and visitors can now book public taxis in the emirate directly through the Yango app.

According to Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre, offering this service through a globally recognized app like Yango enhances the overall efficiency of taxi operations in Abu Dhabi. It makes locating and booking taxis a breeze, while also connecting public and private taxis, as well as licensed individual vehicles, with passengers via secure electronic platforms.

This initiative is a big step toward Abu Dhabi’s goal of reducing its carbon footprint. By improving the operational efficiency of the city's taxis and transport systems, it supports the emirate’s vision of a sustainable future.

A Digital Upgrade for Abu Dhabi's Transport Services

Abu Dhabi Mobility’s mission is to continuously develop and improve transport services in the emirate. The launch of the Yango app is a key part of this strategy, aiming to offer a safe, fast, and convenient way for passengers to connect with transport operators digitally.

The trial phase of this service saw over 300 taxis operating in Abu Dhabi, completing more than 8,000 trips in just five months! Now, more than 1,500 taxis in the emirate are registered on the app, providing users with an easy way to set their destination and get the nearest available taxi in no time.

How the Yango App Works

The Yango app is available for download on both Android and iOS devices, offering a user-friendly experience in multiple languages, including Arabic and English. Here’s how it works:

1. Download the App: Get the Yango app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
2. Set Your Destination: Enter where you want to go.
