Announced by the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) on Tuesday, October 15, the futuristic venue will bring a whole new level of entertainment to the region. Whether you're into mind-blowing concerts, next-level shows, or immersive events, Sphere Abu Dhabi is set to be the place to experience it all, with space for a whopping 20,000 people!

While DCT is keeping the exact location under wraps for now, they’ve teased that this massive, high-tech marvel will be situated in one of Abu Dhabi’s most prime spots. Get ready, because it’s going to be a game-changer for both residents and visitors!

Leaders Excited for Abu Dhabi's Sphere

James L. Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Sphere is redefining live entertainment and extending the reach of its transformative impact.”

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, also shared his excitement: “We are thrilled to bring Sphere to Abu Dhabi in partnership with Sphere Entertainment. Sphere Abu Dhabi will seamlessly integrate advanced technology with captivating storytelling, creating unforgettable memories for everyone who visits.”

A Game-Changer for Abu Dhabi's Entertainment Scene

The partnership between DCT Abu Dhabi and Sphere Entertainment is set to elevate the emirate's entertainment offerings. While the specific terms are still being finalized, DCT will pay Sphere Entertainment a franchise initiation fee to use the brand's proprietary designs, technology, and intellectual property.

DCT will fund the construction of the Sphere, with Sphere Entertainment providing expert guidance on the development, construction, and pre-opening phases. This collaboration is expected to add a new dimension to Abu Dhabi’s tourism and entertainment landscape, solidifying the city as a global destination for cutting-edge events.
