Ramadan Recipes: Sobia

Sobia is a classic beverage of Egypt, consisting of rice, milk, coconut milk, and sugar, with a touch of vanilla for flavor. It is usually served chilled, along with crushed ice to keep it fresh.

- 2 cups water
- 3 cups cold whole milk
- ½ cup caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 cups coconut milk

- Wash and Soak
تم نسخ الرابطRinse 1 cup of rice under cold water, then place it in a bowl and soak it in cold water for 2 hours.
- Add, Boil, and Stir
تم نسخ الرابطAfter 2 hours, drain the soaked rice and add it to a saucepan with 2 cups (500 ml) of water. Place the saucepan on the stove over low heat and bring the water to a boil. Stir occasionally and let the rice cook for about 30 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed
- Allow it to cool

- Add milk and Stir
تم نسخ الرابطWhen the rice has cooled, add 3 cups (750 ml) of cold milk, 1 cup (250 ml) of coconut milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup (100 g) of sugar to the saucepan. Stir the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined
