Seafood Boil

12 cups water
3 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
1 tbsp seafood seasoning
Hot sauce, to taste
1 medium yellow onion, roughly sliced into half-moons
1 large lemon, cut into wedges
12 ounces sausage, sliced into rounds
450 grams baby potatoes, red or gold (or a mix of both)
450 grams pre-cooked snow crab legs, fresh or frozen
450 grams jumbo shrimp, deveined, shell-on or peeled
6 corns on the cob
6 hard-boiled eggs

Garlic Butter Sauce

1 cup unsalted butter
10 cloves of garlic, finely minced
2 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1 tbsp seafood seasoning
1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp smoked paprika
Hot sauce, to taste
  • Method & Directions of Homemade Seafood Boil

  1. Prepare the Boil

    In a large stockpot or Dutch oven (10 quarts or larger), bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in Cajun seasoning, seafood seasoning, and hot sauce to taste. Add sliced onions and lemon wedges, mix well, and let the mixture boil for 15 minutes.
  2. Add the Sausage & Potatoes

    Carefully drop in the sausage rounds and baby potatoes, stirring to combine. Let them cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are almost fork-tender.
  3. Add the Seafood & Corn

    Gently place the snow crab clusters, shrimp, and corn into the pot, ensuring they are fully submerged. Stir well and continue boiling for another 5-7 minutes, until the shrimp turns pink. Meanwhile, prepare the garlic butter sauce.
  4. You can also add other seafood like clams, lobster tails, or calamari to customize your seafood boil to your taste.

  5. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

    In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in garlic, lemon juice, seafood seasoning, parsley, Creole Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and hot sauce to taste. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully combined. Remove from heat.
  6. Assemble the Cajun Seafood Boil

    Line a large baking sheet with foil, parchment paper, or newspaper. Use a strainer to remove the seafood, sausage, potatoes, and corn from the pot, placing them onto the prepared sheet. Discard the onions and lemon wedges. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the seafood mixture and toss everything together to coat evenly.
