Ramadan Recipe: Cheeseburger Rice Bowl

This easy-to-make Cheeseburger Rice Bowl is a wonderful dish to break your fast. It is notorious, filling, and packed with delicious flavors. The key here is the topping sauce which is a replica of a Big Mac sauce. It is sweet and tangy and thus goes perfectly with the beef and rice.

  • Ingredients of Cheeseburger Rice Bowl

Beef

500 grams of ground beef
1 small white onion, finely chopped

Rice

½ cup short-grain rice
½ cup
1 ½ cups water
1 tbsp cooking oil
Salt to taste

Salad

½ iceberg lettuce, chopped
1 tomato, diced
½ red onion, chopped
Shredded cheddar cheese

Sauce

½ red onion, chopped
5 pickles, finely chopped
3 tbsp pickle juice
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp mustard

  • Method & Directions of Cheeseburger Rice Bowl

  1. Prepare the Rice

    Wash both kinds of rice and soak in hot water for at least 15 minutes. Strain, stir in a heated oiled pot for 2 minutes, add salt and water, cover, and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Beef

    In a hot oiled pan, sauté the white onion until translucent with salt and pepper. Add the beef and cook well breaking the meat apart occasionally.
  3. Make the Salad

    Chop lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheddar cheese and toss together.
  4. Make the Sauce

    Combine the rest of the red onion in a mixing bowl with the pickles, pickle juice, ketchup, mayo, and mustard. Salt to taste.
  5. Assemble Your Bowl

    In a serving bowl, start with a layer of rice followed by a generous layer of beef. Top with the salad and sauce.
