Etihad Arena will be buzzing with excitement as a talented cast and a powerful orchestra of over 65 performers bring Victor Hugo’s classic tale to life. Set in the early 19th century, Les Misérables follows the gripping story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant who steals a loaf of bread to feed his family and ends up spending 19 years in prison. As Valjean seeks redemption, he takes in the orphaned Cosette, setting the stage for a heart-wrenching journey of love, sacrifice, and hope.

Debuting in the West End, London, in 1985, Les Misérables was produced by Cameron Mackintosh and initially faced some harsh criticism. However, everything changed when Diana, Princess of Wales, attended a performance. Since then, the musical has become a global phenomenon, earning numerous awards and thrilling audiences worldwide.

The show is a sung-through musical, meaning that its entire story is told through song. You'll hear some of the most iconic numbers in musical theatre history, including “Bring Him Home,” “Master of the House,” “On My Own,” and “One More Day.” And let’s not forget Susan Boyle's unforgettable performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” on Britain’s Got Talent! These timeless songs have been reimagined on film and reality TV, ensuring their place in pop culture.
