Famous Palestinian Journalist Motaz Azaiza Has Evacuated from Gaza!

Famous Palestinian digital journalist Motaz Azaiza evacuated from Gaza on Tuesday, Jan. 23 and has travelled to Qatar through a Qatari military plane from Egypt’s El Arish International Airport.

Azaiza has garnered 18.2 million followers on Instagram for his coverage of the ongoing brutal war in Gaza against Palestinians.

Azaiza announced his departure in a video he shared on Instagram.

He said, "This is the last time you will see me with this heavy, stinky vest. I decided to evacuate today."

Azaiza got emotional and even apologized for leaving by saying, "I'm sorry".

However, on an optimistic note, he said "Insha Allah (God willing), I'll come back and help to build Gaza again."

After saying this, Azaiza proceeded to take off his blue 'Press' jacket. He was helped in doing so by his friends and fellow journalists.

After he removed the jacket, he bid farewell to his friends with well wishes and hugs.

Azaiza said, "I will miss these people, I spent [all my time] with them, even when they kicked me out of the office."

The farewell involved a lot of teary goodbyes, nonetheless, Azaiza's colleagues wished him well and bid him farewell.
