It is a day when people forget their differences and come together to celebrate and spread happiness. People smear each other with colored powder (gulal) and water, sing and dance to the beats of drums.

The colors used during Holi have special significance. They are made from natural ingredients such as turmeric, henna, flowers, and fruits, and are believed to have medicinal properties that help in warding off illnesses and diseases.

Later in the evening friends and family visit each other and enjoy traditional sweets and delicacies.
