Emirates Resumes Flights to Edinburgh After Four-Year Hiatus

Edinburgh just got a little closer to Dubai as Emirates resumes direct daily flights to Scotland's capital after a four-year break.

This first flight back, landing at Edinburgh Airport, received a warm welcome from the iconic Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, celebrating a fresh start for travelers eager to connect Scotland with Dubai and beyond.

The revived route boosts Emirates’ UK reach, complementing its existing Glasgow flights with a total of 14 weekly trips to and from the UK. Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, highlighted this step as part of the airline's strong commitment to UK travelers, especially Scots looking for seamless connections to long-haul destinations like Thailand and Australia.

More than just passenger flights, these journeys support Scottish exports too. Each Emirates flight can transport 16 tonnes of high-value Scottish produce, from fresh seafood to premium goods, helping local businesses thrive in new markets.

Gordon Dewar, CEO of Edinburgh Airport, expressed excitement over Emirates' return, calling it a major boost for both business and leisure travel. The new link promises to draw in global visitors, adding to Scotland’s dynamic tourism scene and fostering stronger international trade and travel ties.
