Dubai Private Schools Allowed Remote Learning This Week

Dubai private schools, still grappling with the aftermath of severe weather, have been granted the option to continue remote learning this week.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) issued the directive on Sunday, April 21st, urging flexibility and accommodation for students, teachers, and staff facing ongoing logistical challenges due to the recent storm.

The decision comes in the wake of extensive rainfall that led to business closures and disruptions in daily life.

Remote working and learning regulations have been in effect since Tuesday, April 16th, as the country endeavors to recover from the impact of the weather. Heavy flooding across the UAE has prompted road closures and flight disruptions, underscoring the need for continued flexibility in educational settings.

Following the UAE's heaviest rainfall in 75 years, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts additional rain in the coming days. While light rainfall is expected on Monday, April 22nd, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in certain areas on Tuesday, accompanied by a rise in coastal temperatures.
