Dubai Metro to Run Nonstop for 43 Hours for NYE Celebrations

Dubai is taking its New Year’s Eve game to the next level! The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Dubai Metro will operate nonstop for 43 consecutive hours to ensure partygoers and revelers can move around the city with ease.

Starting at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, the Metro will keep running straight through to the end of Wednesday, January 1. The extended hours aim to ease traffic congestion during one of Dubai’s busiest nights, encouraging residents and visitors to ditch their cars and embrace public transport.

More Options for Festive Travelers

It’s not just the Metro getting a time boost—Dubai Tram will also extend its operating hours, running from 6 a.m. on December 31 to 1 a.m. on January 2. Plus, the RTA is deploying 1,400 free buses to ensure there’s no shortage of transportation options, even with major roads like Sheikh Zayed Road expected to close for the festivities.

Additional parking spaces will be made available to accommodate the massive influx of residents and tourists.

Burj Khalifa Steals the Spotlight

One of the main reasons for the extended Metro hours? The spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Burj Khalifa. The iconic tower will host a dazzling nine-minute show featuring fireworks, lasers, and a synchronized fountain performance. While tickets to the event have already sold out, prime views are still up for grabs at nearby restaurants.

With Dubai drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors during December, the RTA’s extended services ensure that everyone can join the party without the headache of traffic or parking woes.

So, grab your Metro pass, plan your stops, and get ready to ride into 2025—Dubai style!
