Bangladeshi Nationals Face Trial for Rioting in UAE

An investigation has been swiftly launched into the arrest of Bangladeshi nationals accused of inciting riots across several UAE streets on Friday.

Chancellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney-General, initiated the investigation, with the Public Prosecution team promptly examining the suspects.

The investigation, under the direct supervision of the UAE Attorney-General, revealed that the suspects were involved in crimes including gathering in public places, protesting against their home government to incite unrest, obstructing law enforcement, disrupting public interests, endangering others, violating rights, disrupting traffic, and damaging public and private property.

The suspects also intentionally disrupted transportation, called for and incited these demonstrations, and recorded and shared audio-visual footage of their actions online, which are offenses against state security and public order, endangering UAE's interests.

Following the preliminary investigation results, the Public Prosecution has ordered the suspects' pre-trial detention pending further investigations. Additionally, the UAE Attorney-General has mandated that the suspects face an expedited trial.

Dr. Al Shamsi emphasized the importance of adhering to UAE laws and cautioned against participating in such activities, highlighting the severe impact on the community and the harsh penalties for perpetrators.
