The match kicked off with intense energy, and Al Hilal opened the scoring late in the first half with Aleksandar Mitrović finding the net in the 47th minute, assisted by Renan Lodi. The home side doubled their lead in the 81st minute with a strike from Malcom, who was set up by Abdullah Al-Hamdan.

Al Ettifaq, currently sitting mid-table, fought back valiantly and were rewarded with a penalty in stoppage time, converted by Vitinho in the 94th minute. However, Al Hilal responded instantly with a goal by Musab Al-Qahtani, assisted by Malcom in the dying moments of the match, sealing their 3-1 victory.

The game saw its fair share of drama, including a red card for Al Ettifaq's Abdullah Al Radif for violent conduct in the final minutes, further highlighting the tension of the encounter.
