Abu Dhabi Police Surprise Good Drivers with Gifts

The Abu Dhabi Police recently surprised 60 motorists by pulling them over—not for a traffic violation, but to reward their safe driving habits. The Happiness Patrol, a special division aimed at spreading positivity, handed out mystery gifts to drivers in Al Ain.
Authorities did not reveal the contents of the gift bags, but the gesture was part of an ongoing campaign to encourage responsible behavior on the roads.
Building a Culture of Safety
Major Matar Abdullah Al Muhiri from the Deputy Directorate of Traffic Affairs emphasized that the initiative seeks to turn safe drivers into role models. "Recognizing responsible motorists encourages others to follow traffic rules," he said.
Col Jaber Saeedan Mansouri, Director of the Department of Traffic and Security Patrol in Al Ain, highlighted the broader impact of such programs. "These efforts contribute to reducing accidents and saving lives," he noted.
More Rewards Across the UAE
Other emirates have embraced similar programs. In Dubai, 22 motorists were honored in 2024 for maintaining a spotless driving record over three years without any accidents or traffic violations. Past rewards in the UAE have included free fuel cards, 'Star of Honour' badges, and even large TV sets.
