Abu Dhabi has done it again! The UAE capital has officially entered the Guinness World Records with the largest-ever aerial display combining fireworks and drones. This incredible spectacle lit up the sky during the Gala Dinner Ceremony at the 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium 2025, held from February 10 to 12.
The breathtaking display featured 1,000 drones in perfect synchronization, with 300 drones forming dazzling rings while 152 fireworks erupted in a beautifully choreographed masterpiece. The combination of precision, safety, and cutting-edge technology created a visual feast that was truly one of a kind.
This record-breaking achievement was made possible by the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), showcasing the country's leadership in aviation, innovation, and airspace management. More than just a stunning light show, the event highlighted the UAE’s ongoing commitment to pushing technological boundaries in the skies.
Abu Dhabi’s knack for breaking records doesn’t end here. Recently, the city was named the safest city in the world for 2025, further solidifying its reputation for security and quality of life. Additionally, Zayed International Airport saw a record-breaking 30% surge in passenger numbers in 2024, further cementing Abu Dhabi as a major global travel hub.
This new world record is just the latest example of Abu Dhabi’s pioneering spirit and its commitment to innovation in aviation and beyond.
