23 Vehicles Seized By Dubai Police For Illegal Modifications

In a recent 24-hour operation, Dubai Police’s General Department of Traffic, in coordination with Al Khawaneej Police Station and the General Department of Operations, successfully seized 23 vehicles and three motorbikes. The vehicles were found to have illegal modifications, causing excessive noise and disturbances in the Al Khawaneej area.

Why Were These Vehicles Seized?

The modifications on these vehicles were not only illegal but also created loud noise, disturbing the peace of the surrounding areas. The operation is part of an ongoing effort by Dubai Police to promote safer roads and enforce traffic regulations.

Traffic Awareness Campaigns: A Safe Road for Everyone

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, confirmed that the seizures were part of the "A Safe Road for Everyone" initiative. This traffic awareness campaign aims to enhance road safety, reduce accidents—especially serious ones—and raise awareness about the importance of responsible driving.

In addition to the seized vehicles, 24 traffic fines were issued to the offenders. The goal is to prevent reckless driving and ensure everyone on the road follows the rules for a safer, more responsible driving culture.

Heavy Fines for Illegal Modifications

Under Decree No. 30 of 2023, vehicles that have modifications increasing speed or producing excessive noise can be impounded. Major General Al Mazrouei explained that those seeking to retrieve their impounded vehicles may face fines up to Dh10,000. This serves as a stern reminder to avoid making modifications that could compromise road safety or disturb the community.

A Call for Responsible Driving

Al Mazrouei stressed the dangers of reckless and careless driving, not just for the drivers themselves but also for public safety. “Driving with modifications that increase engine speed or cause disturbances in residential areas puts everyone at risk,” he said.

Report Unsafe Driving

Dubai Police encourage residents to report unsafe driving and other violations through the “Police Eye” or “We Are All Police” services on the Dubai Police smart app or by calling 901. The community’s cooperation is crucial in supporting the “A Safe Road for Everyone” initiative and ensuring the safety of all road users.

With such efforts, Dubai is taking strong steps toward maintaining safe and peaceful streets for all.
