US First Lady Jill Biden Visited Egypt’s Pyramids

During her visit to Cairo, US First Lady Jill Biden explored the iconic Pyramids of Giza on Saturday, accompanied by Egypt's Tourism and Antiquities Minister Ahmed Essa and Mostafa Waziri, the head of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities.

Upon her arrival in Cairo on Friday, US First Lady Jill Biden had a meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his wife, Entisar Amer. The Egyptian first lady welcomed Mrs. Biden at the airport, and the group enjoyed lunch together at the Ittihadya Palace, situated in the pleasant eastern suburb of Heliopolis.

During her visit to Cairo, US First Lady Jill Biden not only visited a technical school but also met with young Egyptians at Al Azhar Mosque, which is a prestigious school of Sunni Islamic learning. institution for Sunni Islamic education. Later on Saturday, she was scheduled to travel to Morocco. This visit marked Mrs. Biden's first trip to Egypt since her husband assumed office in 2020.

Previously, US President Joe Biden had visited the country last year to participate in the UN climate summit held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh.
