UAE May 2025 Fuel Prices Are Out—Here's How Much You'll Pay

Fueling up in the UAE is going to cost you just a bit more in May. The Fuel Price Monitoring Committee has officially released the new petrol rates for the month, and while the hike isn’t dramatic, it’s enough to nudge your budget if you’re clocking in regular miles.

Prices have ticked up slightly compared to April, reflecting global oil trends and local distribution costs.

The new rates are effective from May 1, 2025, and apply across all Emirates.

Here’s what you’re looking at per litre this month:

  • The price of Super 98 petrol for May is Dh2.58 per litre, up slightly from Dh2.57 in April.
  • The price of Special 95 petrol is now Dh2.47 per litre, compared to Dh2.46 last month.
  • The cost of E-Plus 91 petrol has increased to Dh2.39 per litre, from Dh2.38 in April.

While the increase may seem minor — we’re talking Dh0.01 per litre — it adds up depending on what you drive. For example, if you’re filling up a standard SUV, that full tank might cost you up to 74 fils more than last month.

Here’s a quick breakdown by car type:

Compact Cars (51-litre tank average):

Super 98: Dh131.58 (up from Dh131.07)

Special 95: Dh125.97 (up from Dh125.46)

E-Plus 91: Dh121.89 (up from Dh121.38)

Sedans (62-litre tank average):

Super 98: Dh159.96 (up from Dh159.34)

Special 95: Dh153.14 (up from Dh152.52)

E-Plus 91: Dh148.18 (up from Dh142.56)

SUVs (74-litre tank average):

Super 98: Dh190.92 (up from Dh190.18)

Special 95: Dh182.78 (unchanged)

E-Plus 91: Dh176.86 (up from Dh176.12)

Not a budget buster, but worth noting if you’re planning a road trip, drive daily, or have fuel-heavy commutes.

The UAE adjusts fuel prices monthly in line with global oil market trends, and this minor bump reflects that real-time sync. Keep an eye on next month’s update — prices can fluctuate depending on how oil markets move.

Until then, maybe skip that extra rev or switch on cruise control — every dirham counts.
