Sharjah is a city that you have to dig in to discover its beauty, as many people think that it doesn’t have many places to visit and have some memories with those they love. Here are the top ten places to visit in Sharjah and have fun:

1 - Al Majaz Waterfront: if you’re planning to spend a nice day or a comfy evening, you should definitely visit Al Majaz Waterfront. There you have many options of either setting in the coffee-shops or restaurants and have a nice dining and a talk with your loved ones or having a walk around the parameter and lose some calories. There are also many activities for kids, such as the miniature golf and play areas. Don’t forget to pass by the colored-dancing fountain that attracts the eye. Many people cluster around to watch and take pictures and videos. Al Majaz Waterfront is located along Khalid Lake Trail.

2 - Central Market: It’s also called the Blue Market. The reason of giving it this name is that it has blue tile covering some parts of its exterior. It’s the city’s most famous landmark for shopping lovers. Its exterior is covered with some Islamic words that are beautiful to see and remember before entering and after leaving. Hundreds of shops are inside that sell many different things, such as: shoes, gold and jewelries, cloths, bags, perfumes, gifts and much more. The upper floor is more or less like an Arabian bazar with many shops that sell antiques, carpets, Omani and Yemeni jewelry. After shopping, you can choose any cafeteria to set in and have a snack or something to drink. The Central Market is located near Khalid Lagoon.

3 - Al Qasba: One of the most attractive destinations in Sharjah, with multiple options of cafés and restaurants to set in and enjoy your time with family and friends. There’s also the lagoon that you can have a walk along it and enjoy looking at. The biggest attraction of Al Qasba is the 60-meter high Eye of the Emirate wheel that while riding it, you can see Sharjah’s beautiful buildings and landmarks. 4 - Al Noor Mosque: It is the only mosque in Sharjah that is opened to non-Muslims. It is one of the mosques that although it is a new one (since 2005), it takes you back to the Ottomans period, with its Ottoman style and architectural design of mosques back then, with its pointed minarets that are clustered around the same area. Tourists are allowed to visit the mosque and have tours on Monday at 10:00 a.m. that include discussions about the mosque and the emirate. Al Noor mosque is located in Al Corniche Street- close to the Central Market.

5 - Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization: It’s your first option if you want to dig deep into the Islamic civilization and know more about its beautiful features, such as Islamic arts and religious manuscripts that are dating back from 7^th to 19^th century. A collection of astrolabes is also on display. The Astrolabe is an Astronomical machine that is used to know prayer’s time, location and day and evening’s time and much more. There is also calligraphy, carvings, ceramics, scientific instruments and much more to see. A coin collection of silver dinars and dirhams that dates back to the Abbasid and Umayyad eras is also there to amaze you. The purpose of having such a museum is to show us and others how great our ancestors were. The museum is located in Al Corniche Street.

6 - Sharjah Aquarium: Explore the fascinating world of the deep sea. This aquarium shows the mysterious, colorful, weird and astonishing life of the sea world. Experience a new adventure at Sharjah Aquarium with watching more than 150 different species of the marine life, such as: clownfish, seahorses, sharks and much more. These marine creatures are in different sizes and colors. There is also a gift shop that you can buy things from, which come in affordable prices. In addition, there is cafés you can enjoy sitting in after finishing your trip. The Aquarium is located in Al Khan district-off Al Meena Street.

7 - Al Mamzar Beach Park: A place where you can have a walk under the sun rise that gives you energy or in a rainy day that makes you happy. It’s divided into five beaches that are the best choice for swimming, laying under the sun and diving to explore the deep sea. There are also designed areas for barbecues and playgrounds for children. Some people might be afraid to swim in the sea. No worries, there is another option their which are the three pools that are not much deep to swim in. Palm trees are around the area to feel peace and refresh. Other activities such as skating, cycling, Jet Ski, ball games and services, such as changing rooms, bathrooms, showers, umbrella and fast food kiosk are also available for your comfort. Al Mamzar Beach Park is located in the Al Mamzar area-between Al Khan Lagoon in the north and Al Hamriya Port in the south.

8 - Al Noor Island Butterfly House: A place that we can call: Home of butterflies. Enjoy looking at the beauty of butterflies and learn about them from experts. Dozens of species inhibit in this place that it’s the first of its kind in Sharjah city. These colorful creatures will for sure make you feel peaceful, comfort and happy to watch. This house has been made to suit the butterflies, with species of plants that are native to their habitat. Visitors are allowed to take picture but not to touch them, as they might be frightened. The Butterfly House has been designed in a way that let the natural light in and balance humidity. 9 - Al Shaab Village: A place where you can spend a memorable time with the family and friends. Enjoy shopping in no less than 100 stores in its 2 floors that sell everything you think of. They have clothes, shoes, bags, mobile accessories, food, honey that comes in different colors and purposes, perfumes, accessories and much more. For entertainment, there is an Ice Skating rink, Billiard Hall, cinema, children playground and games with many coffee shops and restaurants. 10 - Arabia’ Wildlife Centre: Something different you can visit and figure out how great Allah’s creatures are. The centre is divided into three sections: Mammals, Insects and Canines. There is also an outdoor huge space that you can see the Oryx, Cheetah and Flamingos from. This centre is also a big house to the endangered Arabian Leopard, in addition to the reptile and insect house. You can enjoy looking at different species of birds, and also watch animals behind the glass panels in a habitat that suits their needs and is comfortable to them. There are also picnic facilities and a café if you want to rest after watching the beauty of different animals found in the Arabian Peninsula.
