If you are an animal lover then visiting Europe’s highest zoo should be on the top of your list. You will see deers, wolves, eagles, bears, lynxes, and many more animals in their natural habitat. There are also several playgrounds on-site.

HOHE TAUERN NATIONAL PARK: NATURAL WONDERS OF SUPERLATIVES

The Hohe Tauern National Park is the largest protected area in the Alps, it is a fascinating alpine landscape, one that stretches much further than the eye can see. With a surface area of 1,856 square kilometers. It is truly magnificent scenery that stays engraved in the memories of visitors forever.

Großglockner High Alpine Road

The 48 km Grossglockner High Alpine Road follows the contours of the high mountain with all its thirty-six turns and bends, facilitating a close, direct experience of forests, flowery meadows, rocky heights, and the summit region of the Grossglockner, including the largest glacier of the Eastern Alps, the Pasterze. There are four themed playgrounds, several exhibitions, and numerous rest stops along the road.

Krimml Waterfalls

The Krimml Waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park are a beautiful place to visit and can be reached by car in 40 minutes from the High Alpine Road. These waterfalls, the fifth highest in the world and the highest in Europe, tumbled down almost 385 meters. If you approach too closely, be prepared to get drenched! Make sure to visit the WasserWelten ("Worlds of Water") Krimml while you are at the waterfalls: Children may experiment, play, and learn at the same time in this interactive exhibition about water in all its forms.

A Mountain Ranger Tour

You will find more than 10,000 animal species and 1,800 plants in the Hohe Tauern Mountains. The area is a haven of tranquility, wonder, and seclusion. The best way to experience the National Park's natural habitats is on a guided tour led by a National Park Ranger.

KITZBÜHEL: TREASURE HUNTS & A WILDLIFE PARK

Although Kitzbühel is renowned as the most iconic sports destination in the Austrian Alps, it is also a family haven in the summer. Various enigmatic, thrilling, and enjoyable locations are just waiting to be discovered by visitors in the native grass highlands and the dark woodlands.

Geocaching Treasure Hunt

Using a GPS device (or your smartphone), locate hidden containers, or geocaches, on this treasure hunt to discover secret locations and breathtaking views.

Wildpark Aurach

If you’re an animal lover you will be able to get a close experience with over 300 alpine animals such as dear, goats, sheep, lamas, and donkeys at this wildlife park near Kitzbühel. There's also a petting zoo for the little ones.

Llama Trekking

ST. JOHANN IN TIROL: ADVENTURE TRAILS, PARKS & MOUNTAIN CART

In addition to hiking and bike paths, adventure parks, outdoor pools, and a weekly program, St. Johann in Tirol offers a wide range of kid-friendly activities.

This is a 3.8 km long thrilling mountain cart route that you can enjoy a cart ride down to the valley, through forests and pastures, including tricky turns and spectacular steep sections.

Hornpark – Tree Top Adventure Park

The largest high ropes park in the Kitzbühel Alps with different courses, including a Flying Fox and zip line one, and special children’s areas.
