Sheikh Zayed Road to be Closed on New Year's Eve

Parts of Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed on New Year's Eve, from 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Residents and visitors visiting Downtown Dubai and other locations for fireworks are requested to start their trips early and use public transport. 

If visitors and residents do not wish to be part of the festivities, they are advised to leave festive areas early. 

For individuals who plan to drive to the festive locations, alternative parking spaces will be available at Al Wasl and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) parking lots from where they can use free shuttle buses to get to their destinations. 

There will be metro stations with available parking spaces such as Centerpoint, Etisalat e&, and Jebel Ali.

The Dubai Water Canal Footbridge and elevators will be closed from 4:00 p.m.

The following roads will be closed on New Year's Eve:

  • Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard: To be closed from 4:00 p.m.
  • Financial Centre St's Lower Deck: To be closed from 4:00 p.m.
  • Al Mustaqbal St: Closed from 4:00 p.m.
  • Burj Khalifa St: Closed from 4:00 p.m.
  • Al Asayel Road: Closed from 4:00 p.m.
  • Al Sukuk St: Closed from 8:00 p.m.
  • The upper level of the Financial Road: Closed from 9:00 p.m.
  • Sheikh Zayed Road: Will gradually close from 11:00 p.m.
