Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Opens Renovated Al Shindagha Museum

The newly renovated Al Shindagha Museum, UAE's biggest heritage museum, has been opened under the supervision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and the Ruler of Dubai.

“Our museums serve as cultural beacons that embody our heritage,” his highness stated.

UAE’s Al Shindagha museum has been launched by Dubai with the goal to welcome over one million visitors by 2025. The museum aims to showcase the rich history of Dubai and offer an understanding of the emirate's progress and advancements throughout the years.

“We want the world to know Dubai’s story and its history.” he added.

The museum provides an insight into the traditional way of life and the diverse cultural heritage of the region, with exhibits that date back to the 1800s.

Some of the pavilions worth visiting at the Al Shindagha Museum are Dubai Creek - the beginning of a city, emerging city, people and faith, perfume house, traditional crafts, beauty and adornment, traditional jewelry, traditional healthcare, children's house, culture of the sea, community hall, life on land, traditional food house, poetry house, and Al Maktoum Residence.

Al Shindagha, a district covering a vast area of 310,000 square meters located on the west bank of Dubai Creek, is being converted into an open-air museum that portrays the history of Dubai. This transformation was ordered by Sheikh Mohammed, who spent his childhood in the neighborhood of Al Shindagha, and where he was also born.
