Sharjah Opens 20 New Mosques for Ramadan 2025

Sharjah has opened 20 new mosques across the emirate for Ramadan 2025, which is expected to begin on Saturday, Mar. 1.

The Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs said that newly opened mosques can collectively accommodate more than 2,000 worshippers. 

Hosn Al Khatimah is one of the new mosques in Al Barashi and can accommodate 400 worshippers. 

The Department of Islamic Affairs has opened two mosques in Kalba, which include the Al Baraa Bin Aws mosque in Al Saf and the Dhat Al Nitaqain mosque in Al Ghail.

Other recently opened mosuqes include Al Sahabi Al Tufail bin Malik mosque in Al Dhaid, Umm Habib bint Al Awwam mosque in Khor Fakkan, Al Sahabi Salim bin Amr mosque in Al Hamriya. 

In 2024, the department opened 40 mosques in Sharjah, with 30 of them opened before the end of Ramadan and the other ten opened the final third of the year.
