- Publish date: Saturday، 18 January 2025

Dubai's road toll operator, Salik, has announced a major shift in its pricing system, set to begin on January 31, 2025. The updated structure introduces variable toll charges depending on the time of day, with different rates for peak and off-peak hours. Here’s what drivers need to know:
Weekday Toll Rates
Peak hours (6 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM): Dh6 per trip.
Off-peak hours (10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 1 AM): Dh4 per trip.
Free hours: 1 AM to 6 AM.
Sunday Rates
Dh4 throughout the day (7 AM to 2 AM), with no toll from 2 AM to 7 AM.
These rates exclude public holidays, special occasions, and major events.
Ramadan-Specific Pricing
During Ramadan, the toll rates will adjust to reflect different traffic patterns:
Peak hours (9 AM to 5 PM): Dh6 per trip.
Off-peak hours (7 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 2 AM): Dh4 per trip.
Free hours: 2 AM to 7 AM (Monday to Saturday).
On Sundays, the fee remains Dh4 from 7 AM to 2 AM, and free from 2 AM to 7 AM.
No Changes to Certain Gates
Salik clarified that toll charges remain unchanged for vehicles passing through specific gates in the same direction within one hour. These include Al Safa North and South gates, as well as Al Mamzar North and South gates.
Current Flat-Rate System
Until January 31, Salik charges a fixed rate of Dh4 each time a vehicle passes any of its 10 toll gates across the city. The new system aims to ease traffic flow during peak hours while encouraging off-peak travel.
