This Ethiopian layered fruit smoothie is a delicious blend of pureed warm-weather fruits. Made with mango, papaya, and lime juice, it’s tangy, tropical, and refreshing. Fresh avocado ups the smoothie and gives it a creamy texture.

1/4 of ripe papaya
1 ripe mango
2 avocados
1 cup sugar
1 cup cold water
1 cup ice
3 tbsp lime juice

  1. Cut and chop the fruits

    Chop the 1/4 section of ripe papaya. Chop the mangoes and avocadoes.
  2. Blend the fruits

    Place each of the fruits into three large different cups to blend with an immersion blender.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients

    To each cup, add 1/3 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup of cold water, 1/3 cup of ice, and 1 tablespoon of lime juice. Blend it until smooth and creamy.
  4. Layer the smoothie

    Start by spooning the papaya mixture into a glass. Next, spoon the avocado mixture, and finally, spoon the mango mixture on top.
  5. Serve
