Creamy Chicken Alfredo Pasta

1 pound (450g) fettuccine pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
Salt and black pepper to taste
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

    Boil the fettuccine pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
