Swap blue cheese for parmesan, mozzarella, feta, or gorgonzola, and enhance it with nuts, berries, or a different dressing like Caesar. For a heartier option, top it with grilled chicken or steak!

Salad

1 head iceberg lettuce
8 slices bacon, cooked cooled and chopped
1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
½ cup red onion, chopped
Pecans or walnuts, toasted

Blue Cheese Dressing

1 cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
3 tbsp buttermilk
3 tsp red vinegar
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp garlic salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ cup blue cheese, crumbled saving some to garnish

  1. Prepare the Dressing

    In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, red vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, freshly ground black pepper, and crumbled blue cheese and mix well.
  2. Allow Dressing to Rest

    Cover and refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Also, this dressing can be made several days in advance for convenience.
  3. Cook the Bacon

    Cut the bacon into small pieces and cook in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer the cooked bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.
  4. Cut the Lettuce into Wedges

    Slice the iceberg lettuce in half, then cut each half into quarters or thirds, depending on the size of the lettuce. Arrange the wedges on individual serving plates.
  5. Assemble the Wedge Salad

    Drizzle the chilled dressing generously over each lettuce wedge. Sprinkle crispy bacon, diced tomatoes, finely chopped onions, and crumbled blue cheese on top. Finish with a dash of freshly cracked black pepper for extra flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy!
