Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi unveiled an ambitious blueprint for its Tourism Strategy 2030, aiming to ramp up the number of visitors from nearly 24 million in 2023 to 39.3 million by 2030. To reach this goal, the city is focusing on enhancing its hospitality offerings, including a significant increase in hotel rooms. A key player in this transformation is Aldar Properties PJSC, a real estate development company owned by the Abu Dhabi government.

Aldar is investing 1.5 billion dirhams into upgrading its hotel portfolio. This includes enhancing existing hotels and introducing exciting new brands to the capital.

Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi

Aldar has teamed up with Hilton to revamp the Eastern Mangroves hotel under the prestigious Waldorf Astoria brand. Guests can expect stylish upgrades to rooms and suites, along with improvements to leisure and event facilities. The promenade and marina will receive enhancements, and new retail outlets will be introduced. Moreover, the residences in the area will also get a facelift.
